Catriona Osborne

Catriona Osborne is an artist, curator and photographer working with a varied set of mediums including experimental darkroom photography, textiles, video and exhibition design.

Catriona worked as co-director of 126 (2021), exhibition coordinator with Sample-Studios (2019-2020) and was the friends coordinator in The Hunt Museum (2022). She has built three darkrooms and received a micro-grant from 126 (2020) to upgrade her black and white darkroom into a colour darkroom. She was a member of Backwater and Sample-Studios darkrooms before building her own (2018). Most recently she received arts council and Limerick city and county council funding for a mentorship and to perform further upgrades to her darkroom.

Osborne spoke at a conference Sex Gender and Shame (UCD, 2019). She has prepared a workshop Darkroom and Lightroom Skills for adults to learn cameraless photography and analog camera making which was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

She has shown in large scale and international exhibitions (2015-2021). Currently, Catriona is setting up her 4th instalment of her darkroom which will resolve in colour positive images with a pinhole camera. She is also preparing a solo-show for 2023 and working on curating shows before the end of 2022 and into the next year.
