Daithí Mac Cruitín
Daithí MacCruitín (a.k.a mankyy) is a music producer and artist from Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare. Living in Limerick since 2018, with a background in hip-hop and sample-based music, his work has expanded to include handmade collage booklets, community zines, and album covers.
Last year, mankyy and collaborator Thérèse Tynan held a joint audio-visual exhibition titled SIDE A // SIDE B in the Spacecraft Studios project space. With several releases on Limericks Unscene Music, he is a co-organiser of the Unscene Bazaar parties, and creator of posters and artwork for the self-described "non-label".
In November 2022, he was selected for POP UP Lab Limerick, an initiative by The Collective, organised to support an integration of multidisciplinary work into theatre contexts. This has led to the development of Shy Boii Gets No Sweets, a live performance and album project with Hazey Haze. He is also a member of Limerick group Péist [transl: worm].
His work has been featured in Nialler9, Ormston House and VICE.
