Freida Breen
Freida Breen is a visual artist living and working in Limerick. With a background in art therapy, she worked primarily in the homeless and domestic abuse services, before completing a degree in Sculpture and Combined Media at Limerick School of Art and Design in 2020. Freida makes sculptural and drawing work that explores temporality, material and encounter. She pays close attention to the inherent character of materials and works with them in an intuitive manner, moving between the methodical- a sense of time in making- and the direct presentation of matter as it is, or just minimally influenced. She is interested in the graft of work with such intimate beginnings into the fabric of site and space, and the encounter with the viewer.
