Hannah bloom

Hannah Bloom’s practice is inspired by natural materials, generative processes and human sensory perception. Thematically, she focuses on the tensions that exist between the human world and the natural world, during a time of environmental urgency. Through conceptual research, material experimentation and physical making, Bloom interrogates the pathway of internal consciousness, sensory perception and the external environment.

Hannah Bloom graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 2017, with a BA in Fine Art Media and Visual Culture. Following her degree, she was shortlisted for the Talbot Studios most promising graduate award, and long-listed for The RDS visual art award. She was awarded the Ormond Studios Graduate residency in 2017, which culminated in her first solo show What We Thought Was Ebbing Was Actually Flooding. Bloom exhibited in the Media Art Friesland festival in the Netherlands in 2017, and was subsequently nominated for the Young Masters Award.
